GroupToolz didn’t exist before 2025. That’s worth sitting with for a moment. In under 18 months, we’ve gone from zero to 12,000+ active users across India and internationally. The tool catalog grew from around 80 at launch to 150+ today, covering SEO, AI, design, video, entertainment, learning, and music. We’ve published 40+ blog posts on blogs.grouptoolz.com. Killed the one-size-fits-all plans
We scrapped the original 4-tier structure and launched 6 specialty plans (Lite, Pro, Advanced, Designer’s Pack, Writer’s Pack, AI Plan) plus the Custom Plan Builder. Designers were tired of paying for SEMrush. SEO freelancers never touched Envato. Writers wanted Jasper and Frase but not CapCut. So we stopped bundling everything together and let people pay for the category they actually work in.

Semrush upgraded to Guru
This was a big one. Semrush access went from Pro to Guru (retail $249.95/month). Guru adds the Content Marketing Toolkit, 2 years of historical data, multi-location tracking, and Looker Studio integration. Available on Pro (₹399), Advanced (₹499), and as a single tool for ₹199. February 2026
Leonardo AI bumped to Maestro
Higher generation limits, access to the most advanced Leonardo models. This was a direct response to users asking for more AI image generation capacity. When people ask for something reasonable, we try to deliver it.

GPL Store and GFX Store went live
Two new sections in the member dashboard: GPL Store for WordPress themes and plugins, GFX Store for graphic design assets. Extra value on top of your tool subscription. Both accessible from the sidebar. Not life-changing on their own, but they add up.

This was the most requested feature in our grouptoolz user feedback channels. People wanted to buy just Semrush for ₹199 or just Canva for ₹99 without committing to a ₹399+ bundle. We expanded to 100+ individual tools from ₹49 to ₹599. A real portion of our user base now skips bundles entirely and builds their own stack.

What we got right

Specialty plans over forced bundles

This got the best grouptoolz user feedback of anything we did in H1. Designers told us they resented paying for SEMrush. SEO freelancers said they never opened Envato Elements. Writers wanted Jasper and Frase.io but had zero use for CapCut. The specialty packs fixed all of that. Designer’s Pack at ₹349/month. Writer’s Pack at ₹799/month. AI Plan at ₹2,499/month. You pay for the category you work in and nothing else. I’m honestly surprised more platforms don’t do this. It seems obvious in retrospect.

Single tools with clear pricing

Before we launched single tools, the most common complaint was “I just want Semrush, why do I need to buy a bundle?” Fair point. So we built a marketplace with 100+ tools you can buy individually. Semrush for ₹199. Canva for ₹99. Skillshare for ₹49. No bundle required. The response has been strong. A meaningful chunk of our users now buys exactly the tools they need without a plan. We’re earning it month by month, but I won’t pretend we’re there yet. Every month of stable service adds to the track record we’re building, but we’re still early.

Support gets slow during peak hours

WhatsApp support runs 18/7, 10 AM to 11 PM IST. That’s solid most of the day. But between 7 PM and 10 PM IST, response times sometimes stretch longer than I’d like. We know about it. We’re expanding the support team in H2 2026 to fix it. Email at grouptoolz@gmail.com is available 24/7 for non-urgent stuff, but I get that people want quick WhatsApp replies and we need to be faster during those evening hours.

Tool status updates aren’t fast enough

When a tool goes down (and it happens on every group buy platform because of shared access), users need to know immediately.  The AI generation world is moving fast. Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 updates, newer models launching monthly. We’re evaluating every major release for the AI Plan and single tools catalog. The grouptoolz roadmap 2026 has AI expansion as the biggest item. Expect the AI tool count to grow a lot by December.

More single tools. We keep expanding based on requests. Every tool request submitted through WhatsApp or the Community channel gets logged. The most-requested ones get added first.
